After breakfast, meet your guide at your Cappadocia hotel for a private day trip to Devrent Valley, Monks Valley, and Göreme Open Air Museum. You will start your tour with a short ride in your air-conditioned coach to the marvelous Devrent Valley. Here, admire the abundant volcanic pinnacles, bizarre shaped boulders, and wondrous fairy chimneys. You will be amazed by the story of how natural forces eroded these formations over millennia. Next, capture photos of mushroom-topped rock monoliths rising from the nearby vineyards in Pasabag also referred to as Monks Valley as you will learn about the monks and hermits that once found solitude within these lonely cone shelters. Move on to Avanos and mold yourself a clay souvenir during a fun pottery workshop. But first, watch close as the artisans spin a wheel of clay and carefully produces one of Turkey’s ancient crafts. Now that you’ve seen how it’s done, make your own creation.
Afterwards, you will be heading to the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to visit the museum and discover its ancient frescoes covering the ceilings of rock-chiseled chapels, monasteries, and churches. Gaze at the colorful details that remain centuries later and appreciate the effort of these long-passed painters. At the end of your tour, you will be transferred to your hotel.
